Hi everyone, just wanted to share some news. You might have noticed that I've been almost completely MIA this week..... no posts, no comments, no cards... I haven't even managed to say hello on most of my PCP groups.
Well, my DD Anna has been working on a group program called Odyssey of the Mind and the competition was yesterday. We've had intense practices (3 hours a day) for the last week helping the kids get ready. The great news is that they did FANTASTIC! They placed 2nd out of 20 teams for the Regional competition. I'm so proud of all these guys.
If you haven't heard about Odyssey of the Mind, check out the website here. It's a wonderful program for kids that teaches them to think outside the box and explore different ways to be creative. My DD's team "the Odyssey Eagles" worked on the Nature Trail'r problem -- they had to make scenery, build a person powered vehicles, a camper, write a skit, make costumes and act out an 8 minute solution where they encounter obstacles that the vehicle clears, meet wildlife and repair the vehicle. Dang, they all did so good! Proud mama here!
Well, I'm hoping for some creative time today so we'll see if I can sneak in a card later. In the meantime, I hope you are all well and having a wonderful weekend!
